New year, new venues for Thames Valley networking group

Business networking organisation NRG Networks is relocating its Swindon and Reading groups. The Swindon group moves to one of Swindon’s newest restaurants and the Reading group moves to the 4* Reading Moat House.

The Swindon groups first meeting for 2012 takes place next Tuesday, January 10, at The Weighbridge – which opened shortly before Christmas in the former Archers Brewery building at Churchward, originally the site of the town’s historic railway works.

The Reading groups first meeting for 2012 takes place on Friday, January 20, at The Moat House Hotel – which successfully combines the individual elegance of a modern hotel with the charm of a once thriving 19th Century Mill House. The Mill itself used to supply flour to the Queen!.

NRG was set up in June 2004 and now has branches from London to Exeter, South Wales and in the Midlands.

The Swindon group had met for several years at The Marriott and the Reading group at Wokefield Park. Swindon group leader Jo Smyth said it was time for a change.

“We’re very excited about the new moves and hope it will encourage more people to come along, meet great people, have an excellent lunch and try out NRG” said Jo, who runs PR and copywriting agency Word Worker.

“Quality events, quality people – that’s what people say about our group” added NRG Reading leader, Patrick Moore, who specialises in helping early stage clean technology businesses to attract investment by preparing business plans that tell investors what they need to know.

The Swindon group meets on the first Tuesday every month although the January event is being held a week later to avoid New Year. The Reading Group meets on the third friday very month. Meetings are from 10.45am-2.30pm and include networking, a business problem-solving session, lunch and an expert speaker.

Guests are always welcome to attend the monthly meetings.

“New venues for the new year are very apt for NRG, which is a forward-looking and dynamic networking organisation,” added Jo.
