BE Linkedin and alert for opportunities… On the 19th February at 10:30 I received an email from Jon Davey at the Business in Berkshire group via Linkedin – “Who’s up for lunch at Wokefield Park today?” it read.
Well, never one to miss out on a networking opportunity (or lunch), I replied that I would like to go. I wasn’t the only one replying; but I was first in line that could go. That morning I had been working on my marketing strategy and had been looking at networking events… talk about the law of attraction! Never having been to the NRG-networks meeting before, I was interested to find out what made this different from the many other networking meetings I have been to. I found an extremely well run event – many thanks to Dave Clarke for the warm welcome. Nice to have time to network before the formal part of the meeting. The venue was very impressive and the format of the event was relaxed yet very professional with a great guest speaker. Many learnings here. The people I met were serious about business whilst having fun doing it … and lunch was very nice too. For me, the main difference was the type of attendee – the sort of people that are leaders and professionals – a more business focused discussion, with everyone I met looking to see what they could do for others rather than for themselves.
