I’ve just enjoyed a most enjoyable lunch with a few pals and some very interesting business people at NRG Networks Reading lunch at Wokefield Park, nr Reading.
Our great leader, Dave Clark, had taken time out with the family and headed south... so we had to make do with Martin Davies! Good bloke, little forgetful but then he is getting on... or he does go on... can’t quite remember which it is... probably both!! The morning seminar was on The Power of the Broadcast Interview – How to give one, how to survive one. Dave Harries and Nigel Morgan were billed as the presenters. Smaller crowd than usual after all it is August and many of the quality individuals that NRG attracts are away at their holiday homes or making the most of family time before the summer is over. Some put the attendance down to the fact that Nigel had pitched up a few months back and people probably needed another few months realistically before being able to absorb more! I did try to dispel this but a doubling of numbers for the actual lunch did seem to underline the point that you can have too much of a good thing! Dave did a great job of illustrating how we can make the most of the TV opportunity and you can find out more at www.bizview.tv Today’s lunch attracted a new crowd. Four of the eight on my table were new faces and that was great to see. All had an interesting message and I’ll be encouraging the members to make better use of the Business Networking Lunch web space, we have created for NRG, to promote their businesses. July saw 767 visitors to nearly 2000 pages... some of those will have booked for lunch... I’d like to see September’s figures over 1000 ... that happens by us pushing out more content via the site... I’ll be talking to those I had lunch with about sending over 250+ words and so building their online profile while at the same time boosting interest in NRG business networking lunches... that’s team work.
